My favorite song played in the Egyptian film "Microphone" during the 17th Franco Arab film Festival .




And we got the chance to meet the actor Khaled Abol Naga in person, who presented the film and answered  the audience's questions.

They are working now on a new film called "تحرير التحرير" to be released on January 25, 2012.

I find this video very interesting and so true as well. I believe that everything is contagious whether good or bad, positive or negative. We always tend, maybe unconsciously, to behave or even speak like the people around us, to the point that we don't recognize our own unique personalities\ principles\attitudes any more, even worse if we don't see it and become part of who we are!.

I think this is mostly applicable at the work place where one is exposed to different personalities\environments\education, it is healthy and a continuous learning process, yet I find it irritating and frustrating to just follow blindly some stupid repeated jokes, stereotypes, nagging, negative attitudes...and the list goes on! Where a simple positive unexpected comment or gesture can truly change the whole situation and affect people, or ring a bell at least, to divert and wake the unconscious flow.

But the accomplishment I guess lies in the fact that you are aware and present and you want to make a change and a difference. And this is of course applicable everywhere even with a stranger in the street!

All I'm saying is that never ever underestimate the power of a tiny gesture and the effect of it, even if it was picking up a napkin you accidentally throw on the floor! Or simply saying, to the office boy for example, ya3tik il 3afiyeh with a smile while actually looking the person in the eyes!

And most importantly do it (whatever "it" is) because you believe in what you are doing and you actually want to do it, not because it's obligatory, religion\culture\law says to, you are better than anyone else, there is a reward or someone is watching...

Remember everything is contagious, learning is a continuous process, and always start with yourself!

Star Bl Dar - Arabic Karaoke

Nidal Khoury is a 21 year old telecommunication engineer, who wanted to start his own business and since his first option, which was a business and study center that helps students, small companies, startups and small organizations, didn't work he had a second plan which is the online karaoke agency StarBlDar.

He applied to Meydan and attended their sessions, and now he is working with them on his own business managing the agency starting from starbldar as a website offering online karaoke, a mobile application that offers starbldar and karaoke nights all around Amman on weekly basis.

As a future plan Nidal is looking to expand starbldar to be a company with revenue and to be the real online platform for Arabic singers in the Middle East.

The Father الأب - a photography exhibition in memory of King Hussein

Dear friends,

إطلاق حملة "شكرا نحن معك" للحد من حوادث الطرق

وكالة الأنباء الأردنية بترا

أطلقت إدارة السير اليوم الاربعاء حملة "شكرا نحن معك" وذلك تحقيقا للرؤى الملكية السامية للحد من الحوادث المرورية وتطبيقا لإستراتيجية مديرية الأمن العام في هذا المجال .


وتهدف الحملة التي انطلقت بالتعاون مع التلفزيون الأردني وإذاعة امن أف أم إلى تحفيز السائقين للحد من المخالفات والحوادث المرورية.

وقال مدير إدارة السير المركزية العميد عدنان فريح في حفل الاطلاق ان فكرة الحملة تنطلق من تحفيز السائقين الملتزمين الذين لم يرتكبوا مخالفات مرورية او حوداث خلال عام وأكثر وذلك استنادا من مبدأ العقوبة والحافز هما أساس تعديل السلوك المروري .

وأضاف أن هذه المبادرة والحملة ستكون ذات طابع حضاري يعكس مدى التطور الذي وصلت إليه إدارة السير والعمل على تعزيز العلاقة الايجابية والتعاونية بين رقيب السير والسائق وذلك للمساهمة بتعزيز السلوك الايجابي والسليم لدى السائقين.

وأكد انه وبالتعاون مع عدد من الشركات ومؤسسات المجتمع المحلي سوف يتم البدء بهذه الحملة وذلك بإيقاف السائقين بشكل عشوائي على شوارع المملكة المختلفة وفي جميع المحافظات والتدقيق على السجل المروري للسائق وفي حال تبين عدم وجود مخالفات وحوادث مرورية لمدة عام فأكثر فسيتم توزيع حوافز مادية وعينية عليهم وفي حال كان السائق مرتكبا لأحدى المخالفات المرورية سيعطى هذا السائق برشورا توعويا عن تلك المخالفة .

وبين إن هذه الفكرة انبثقت للارتقاء بمستوى الخدمة المقدمة لمستخدمي الطريق وخاصة السائقين حيث تعمل الإدارة على إيجاد وسائل مبتكرة للعمل على تعزيز الوعي المروري والتقليل من الحوادث والمخالفات المرورية.

ويذكر انه خصص لهذه الحملة جوائز مالية وعينية ستقسم على السائقين حيث سيتم منح السائقين الذين لم يرتكبوا أي حادث او مخالفة خلال عام ولمدة خمس سنوات بما قيمته مئة دينار والسائقين الذين لم يرتكبوا أي مخالفة خلال خمس الى عشر سنوات بما قيمته مئتان دينار واما السائقين الذي لم تسجل بحقهم أي حوادث ومخالفات خلال عشر سنوات فأكثر فسيتم العمل على تحفيزهم من خلال حفل ومكافئات خاصة في نهاية الحملة.

"The Story of a Jordanian is a story of an old man who has been outisde his homeland Jordan-Amman and tries to convey his love and missing to Amman.
The man remembers various times he used to spend in Amman and conveys his emotions regarding how much he misses it and how bad he wants to go back.
The man is then back to Amman and says his story of arrival.....
