5 reasons why you should consider blogging

Some argue that blogging is passé, but nothing could be further from the truth. Available tools enable all of us to express ourselves, share our views and especially knowledge and experience with a much wider audience than ever before. I really believe that everyone should and can blog. Indeed, it’s not surprising to anyone who knows me that that is a reason why Zemanta is part of my life: to make blogging easier for everyone.

Last weekend I read Antonio Cangiano’s (IBM) great blog post on why every professional should consider blogging. It inspired me to think more about why we all should do it. Here are my five main reasons why you should at least consider blogging if you’re not already doing it.

1. Blogging improves your storytelling skills

 

Blogging is about storytelling, either in words, with pictures, videos or podcasts. Storytelling is nowadays essential part of (content) marketing. But storytelling isn’t so much about talent; it’s a skill that needs constant nurture. Practice makes you better. And blogging is a perfect opportunity to polish your storytelling skills.

2. Blogging improves your communication skills

By polishing your storytelling skills, you also improve your communication skills. Are you shy, introverted, do you have low self-esteem, maybe you don’t know how to sell yourself? Blogging will help you overcome these obstacles. Communication essentially means to convey information to others. The better your communication skills the better you can sell your ideas, skills and knowledge to others. This is one of the reasons why I started blogging in the first place.

3. Sharing is caring

I am a whole-hearted advocate of the philosophy that knowledge is to be shared. Blogging can be a great platform for sharing what you’ve learned and know with others who may be interested in what you have to say and learn from you so they can improve their lives.

4. Position yourself as a thought leader

Blogging helps you build corporate and personal credibility. This is how you can position yourself as a thought leader in the marketplace. Indeed, thought leaders are perceived experts and everyone is expert in something. When done right, blogging can give thought leaders great visibility in the search engine results. Therefore, blogging connects you with others. That’s how great blogging can be.

5. Blogging builds your personal information repository

This is another reason why I decided to blog. Every day we are bombarded with tons of information we try to consume. Every one of us has his/her own way of looking for particular information. Blogging, however, helps archive information you will sooner or later need again. I regularly browse my blog and in this way remind myself of issues, solutions, and ideas I might have already forgotten, but are still useful. Sometimes it’s fun and a bit of an ego boost (we all need it from time to time) to check how far you’ve come.

I find this video very interesting and so true as well. I believe that everything is contagious whether good or bad, positive or negative. We always tend, maybe unconsciously, to behave or even speak like the people around us, to the point that we don't recognize our own unique personalities\ principles\attitudes any more, even worse if we don't see it and become part of who we are!.

I think this is mostly applicable at the work place where one is exposed to different personalities\environments\education, it is healthy and a continuous learning process, yet I find it irritating and frustrating to just follow blindly some stupid repeated jokes, stereotypes, nagging, negative attitudes...and the list goes on! Where a simple positive unexpected comment or gesture can truly change the whole situation and affect people, or ring a bell at least, to divert and wake the unconscious flow.

But the accomplishment I guess lies in the fact that you are aware and present and you want to make a change and a difference. And this is of course applicable everywhere even with a stranger in the street!

All I'm saying is that never ever underestimate the power of a tiny gesture and the effect of it, even if it was picking up a napkin you accidentally throw on the floor! Or simply saying, to the office boy for example, ya3tik il 3afiyeh with a smile while actually looking the person in the eyes!

And most importantly do it (whatever "it" is) because you believe in what you are doing and you actually want to do it, not because it's obligatory, religion\culture\law says to, you are better than anyone else, there is a reward or someone is watching...

Remember everything is contagious, learning is a continuous process, and always start with yourself!

.. سأقول كلاماً لا يعجب أحداً، ولكني وسط هذا الانتهاك الوطني أعرف

 !!.أن مشجعي لعبة الكرة الأردنية ليس لهم ميزة غير الصياح في المدرجات

وهي أولاً وآخراً لعبة تنخر في جسم بلدنا بالعصبيات الإقليميات، ولم تستطع الدولة أن توقفها بطريقة ذكية

 

أمس الأول تكونت مجموعة شيطنات في الملعب، وحين حدث الاصطدام اخطأ الإعلام فتحدث عن مباراة الوحدات والفيصلي، والحقيقة أن جمهور الفيصلي كان قد غادر، حسب اتفاق اتحاد الكرة بانسحاب جمهور الفريق الخاسر، والصدام حدث بين جمهور الوحدات والأمن.. هكذا يجب أن نفهم حدود الحادث

ونقول: قامت «العربيّة» بأسوأ تغطية في تاريخها فقالت أن 250 جريحاً سقطوا على أرض الملعب.. في حين يقول مستشفى الأشرفية أن الذين دخلوا المستشفى هم 11 فقط. وان سبعة بقوا ليلتها وحالتهم بسيطة أما الأمن وجرحاه أكثر فدخلوا المستشفيات العسكرية

وحتى لا تبقى «الجزيرة» بلا حمص، استدعت المحللين والكُتّاب، وتحولت حالة شغب عادية ومحدودة إلى مشكلة من مشاكل الوطن

 لا إصلاح سياسياً-

 لا فلسطينيين كفاية في البرلمان-

حالة فراغ في الحكم-

 

وكثير كثير غيره، مما استدعى تحركات نعرفها جيداً تقوم على حرائق حاويات الزبالة في المخيم، والدواليب المستهلكة

 

ورأساً: أعلن رئيس نادي الوحدات وقف مشاركة النادي في بطولة الكأس، والدوري .. دون سؤال مجلس الإدارة، ودون الإلتزام بشراكة النادي في اتحاد الكرة. ويظهر أن الصحفي الذي نادى بالإصلاح السياسي لم يعرف أن جماهير الوحدات في الانتخابات السابقة انتقلت إلى الدائرة الثالثة دون احترام لقانون الانتخاب، وانتخب ممثل المسيحيين في عمان، وفرض ارادتها على الناس

إن التسلّح بالإقليمية لا يوصل إلاّ إلى المحاصصة في البلد. فهل يريد اخوان كل السلطة للمقاومة بعد فشلهم، أن يحاصصوا الأردنيين.. كما يحدث في العراق؟!!. أو يحدث في لبنان؟

هذا كلام لا نحب أن نقوله مرّة أخرى، ولكنه يجب أن يكون مفهوماً، فالأردن واحد ولا يقبل القسمة والوطن البديل لن يمر تحت شعار الوحدة الوطنية، ونشعر بالإهانة أنه في الوقت الذي تعود فيه حكومة نتنياهو إلى «أرض إسرائيل الكاملة»، تتحرك قوى هنا لتصدير قصة وحدة الضفتين ورفض فك الارتباط

مباراة تبدأ بصافرة، وتنتهي ببوق «القيامة»!! تبدأ بتصفيق وهتاف وتنتهي بسيارات إسعاف ..تصريحات غير مسؤولة، اصطفافات لامعنى لها، وقلوب مشحونة تبحث عن مناسبة

..المشهد مخجل برمته

الكبار يتحدثون بلغة الصغار،الحكماء يتقمصون دور»الزعران»، أطراف تنفخ على جمر الفتنة، المتربصون فرحين، والدماء تجري من كل الوجوه.فلا تعرف الضارب من المضروب..ولا الطالب من المطلوب..والخاسر الأكبر «الوطن

أن ما حدث في القويسمة، مرشّح ان يحدث في أي ملعب آخر في العالم..بل من الطبيعي ان يحدث في أي ملعب في العالم، فالشغب (ايا كان مصدره) هو ردّ فعل إزاء الإحباط الناتج عن الخسارة أو التمادي بالاحتفال بالفوز

لكن ما هو غير الطبيعي ان يتم تحميل الحدث أكثر مما يحتمل، ونقل الكرة من ملعب الرياضة الى ملعب السياسة قبل ان ينتقل اللاعبون الى غرفة الغيار، ونقل كاميرات «البث « الى مؤتمرات تلميع النفس على حساب الوطن، والاشارة الى التقصّد أو التواطؤ، او الاسترجال» للركوب على أكتاف الجماهير الثائرة

لا تهاون هذه المرةّ في العقاب (مطلبنا كمراقبين ومواطنين).. مصممون على معاقبة المتسببين.. كما أننا مصممون في نفس الوقت على معاقبة المتسببين في تشويه صورة الوطن علناً، فلا يحق لأي كان أن يطلق اتهاماته جزافاً، أو أن يلعب بالوحدة الوطنية بين قدميه كيفما يشاء ..أو يتحدّث بلسان خبيث عن «دمين» و»شعبين» و»لونين»..وهو لا يعرف أن نقطة دم واحدة تسيل من جبين أي مواطن أردني هي أثمن عندنا من الكرة الأرضية كاملة

!!المشهد مخجل جداً..كل ينحاز إلى فريقه!! ولا احد ينحاز للوطن

ماء بارد على الرؤوس الحامية

 ما هو الحلّ ؟! مبدئيا نصبّ ماء باردا على الرؤوس الحامية بما في ذلك الرؤوس التي تطلّ من الفضائيات بتحليلات وأستذة متعالية

ومبدئيا نحمد الله أن خسائر في الأرواح لم تقع. ففي أحداث الهياج العام في ستادات كرة القدم طالما وقعت مجازر بانهيار حواجز وتدافع فوق الأجساد. وشغب الملاعب يقع بعيدا عن السياسة وبعنف مضاعف ولأي سبب، فهكذا هو "بعض" جمهور كرة القدم المهووس بفريقه في كلّ مكان، ويمكن لأي مظلة للعصبية والانقسام أن تركب على المزاج الحاد لجمهور الشباب، والعصبية الإقليمية مناسبة تماما في حالة الوحدات والفيصلي

الإقليمية موجودة وحاضرة في واقعنا وتعكس انقساما وتضاربا موضوعيا في المصالح في الوضع الانتقالي الراهن، ولا تزول الا بزوال أساسها الناشئ عن وقوع الاحتلال واقتلاع الشعب الفلسطيني من وطنه والاستمرار بحرمانه حتى الساعة من حقه في دولته المستقلة على أرضه. الى ذلك الحين فثمّة حالة موضوعية لاتقدر أية سياسة وأية إدارة على إلغائها ولا تحلّها البلاغة الانشائية، لكن يمكن التعايش معها سلميا وإدارتها بأقلّ قدر من المعاناة وتحجيم أثرها وامتصاص توتراتها. والنخب تساعد أحيانا في هذا الاتجاه وأحيانا العكس، فهي قد تنفخ فيها وتركبها وتستغلها وتستثمرها لمصالح النفوذ والتصدر

في حادثة أول من أمس في ستاد القويسمة حمّلت بعض التقارير الفضائية الدرك المسؤولية، لكن ما رأيناه من مشاهد لم يدلّ على ذلك، فالجمهور المندفع من المدرج إلى ساحة الملعب اجتاح رجال الدرك المصطفين خلف الشبك الذي انهار بالجميع وكان يمكن أن يموت عدد من رجال الأمن والمواطنين تحت الشبك والكتلة البشرية الهائلة التي أوقعته، ولم نلاحظ بعد ذلك قسوة زائدة في تفريق الجمهور،وعلى كل حال لا يستطيع أحد أن يجزم كيف بدأ الشغب الذي امتد خارج الملعب وتم خلاله تكسير وتخريب ممتلكات وسيارات

لننتظر التحقيق، ولعل الاستماع الى الشهادات لن يقود الى نتيجة، اذ يمكن سماع ما لا يحصى من الشهادات المتضاربة والقصّة قابلة للتكرار ما دامت هناك كرة قدم وجمهور مهووس يفرغ الكبت في الحماس الزائد وعنف الملاعب. قد يكون مناسبا من الآن فصاعدا وضع عدد كبير جدا من كاميرات التسجيل داخل وفي محيط الملعب وهي قد أثبتت فعاليتها في مناسبات أخرى ويمكن أن ترصد بدقة أي سلوك أو حركة استفزازية وتخريبية وستكون مصدر توثيق للحقيقة، وتعطي بنك معلومات عن الأشخاص الذين يمكن إدراجهم في لائحة سوداء كما يفعلون في أوروبا

يفكر المرء فيما يمكن اللجوء اليه لحلّ قضيّة الوحدات والفيصلي والحلّ الأقصى والأقسى هو حلّ كلا الناديين أو دمجهما، لكن قانونيا وديمقراطيا قد لا يكون هذا ممكنا ناهيك أن هناك جمهورا ومحبين حقيقيين لكلا الناديين لا يحق لنا حرمانهم من متعة الموالاة للفريقين. قد يكون المطلوب فقط في هذه القضيّة عدم نفخها والتهويل بها وتسييسها وبصورة ما صبّ بعض الماء البارد على الرؤوس الحامية  التي تستثمر بها

Star Bl Dar - Arabic Karaoke

Nidal Khoury is a 21 year old telecommunication engineer, who wanted to start his own business and since his first option, which was a business and study center that helps students, small companies, startups and small organizations, didn't work he had a second plan which is the online karaoke agency StarBlDar.

He applied to Meydan and attended their sessions, and now he is working with them on his own business managing the agency starting from starbldar as a website offering online karaoke, a mobile application that offers starbldar and karaoke nights all around Amman on weekly basis.

As a future plan Nidal is looking to expand starbldar to be a company with revenue and to be the real online platform for Arabic singers in the Middle East.

Because we are THAT connected

I recently read an analysis, in the form of a metaphor, about the relationship between parents (especially mothers) and their children; it goes like because the connection between a parent and a child is intimately and strongly linked a child tries so hard, and with the same amount of that positive link, to go against that connection. (Unfortunately I don’t remember where I read this, and I hope I explained it right).

Ever since I read this analysis I keep relating it to daily incidents like; the relationship between a Muslim and a Christian, Jordanians from Jordanian and Palestinian origins, citizens and their country (regarding social, political, economical issues).

It kind of makes sense, it lessens the tension of this hectic period we are living in these days, and it’s kind of comforting, as lame as this may sound! Don’t you think?!
